This subsystem provides
an interface between AFMS and the monitoring equipment. Using its functions,
the Administration's personnel will have the ability to program the monitoring
equipment. The resulting processed data from the monitoring equipment
can then be transferred to AFMS to support the frequency assignment process
and to identify illegal users of the spectrum. This subsystem provides
occupancy and loading information on conventional and trunked radio systems.
It is used to determine the use of discrete frequency assignments and
spectrum occupancy statistics.
The Spectrum Surveillance
Analysis subsystem enables Spectrum Management Engineers to produce frequency
lists for monitoring and assists with the analysis of the resulting monitoring
data. Monitoring data is used to determine the extent to which the frequency
spectrum is occupied, to ensure that licensees are operating in accordance
with the terms and conditions of their license, and to identify potentially
non-licensed radio operations.
