For the Directorate General of Posts and Telecommunication of Indonesia
(POSTEL), SPECTROCAN delivered a customized Spectrum Management System
consisting of a central relational database, a suite of administrative
and technical software modules and the corresponding computer hardware.
The second phase of the project included expansion of the system to regional
offices, implementation of a client/server architecture, implementation
of a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) communication network, acquisition
of data collection vehicles for on-site inspection and verification, a
type approval laboratory and further development of the frequency management
operational policies and standards. In 2004 the LS telcom group of companies
delivered a major upgrade to POSTEL's Spectrum Management System including
planning and coordination modules for fixed service (MULTIlink), satellite
services (CHIRplus_SAT), and broadcast service (CHIRplus_BC).During the
implementation phase, POSTEL's individual requirements, including highly
complex fee calculations and specific Indonesian frequency plans, were
put into practice successfully within the given time frame.
